Full-service agronomy, direct-to-farm input sales, and precision drone services — built for Alberta's toughest growing conditions.
Born and raised in Western Manitoba, agriculture has been part of my life from a very young age. I spent countless hours on my Grandpa Joe's farm in Glenboro, MB — and those early years shaped everything that followed.
After high school I attended the University of Manitoba, earning a Crop Protection degree with a major in Plant Science and Entomology. In the late summer of 1998, I packed my bags and headed to the Mighty Peace River Region of Alberta to start my career in Forage Seed Production — and I've been in Alberta ever since.
Over the years I've had the privilege of working with respected companies like Dow AgroScience, Arysta LifeScience, and Farmers Edge, building deep roots in the Alberta agriculture industry. About five years ago I took everything I'd learned and started Hilhorst Farm Services Ltd. — and I've never looked back.
I live in the Wetaskiwin area with my loving wife Kelly. We have three adult children who live close by, seven grandchildren — with number eight on the way this spring!
I started Hilhorst Farm Services with one goal in mind — to give Alberta farmers access to the same expertise and product knowledge I spent 25 years building. Every field I walk, every recommendation I make, is backed by real experience in this province.
